Diamond Intel (diamondintel.gg) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you visit our platform. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by Sony Interactive Entertainment, San Diego Studio, Major League Baseball, or the MLBPA.

2. What Data We Collect

Currently, Diamond Intel operates without user accounts and collects minimal personal information:

Automatically Collected Information

  • IP address (through server logs)
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system
  • Pages visited and time spent on each page
  • Referrer URLs

Future Authentication Data

If we implement user accounts or authentication (via Clerk or other providers), we will collect:

  • Email address
  • Username or display name
  • OAuth provider ID (if using third-party authentication)
  • Password (encrypted and never stored in plaintext)

3. Analytics

Diamond Intel may use analytics services to understand how users interact with our platform:

  • Vercel Analytics: We may implement Vercel's analytics to track anonymous page views and user behavior. This is done to improve performance and user experience.
  • No personal identification: Analytics data is anonymized and does not identify individual users.
  • No cookies required: Our analytics implementation does not use cookies.

4. Advertising

Diamond Intel is a free platform supported by advertising. We may display the following types of ads:

  • Display ads: Banner and in-feed advertisements served by third-party ad networks such as Google AdSense.
  • Rewarded video ads: Optional video advertisements you can choose to watch in exchange for a temporary ad-free experience. These are never forced — you choose to watch them.
  • Ad personalization: Our ad partners may use cookies, device identifiers, and browsing data to serve relevant ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising through your browser settings or the ad network's opt-out tools.

Diamond Intel and our third-party partners use cookies and similar technologies:

  • Essential cookies: Used for basic site functionality, session management, and ad-free timer state (stored in localStorage).
  • Advertising cookies: Third-party ad networks (such as Google AdSense) may place cookies to serve and measure ads. These cookies may track browsing activity across websites to deliver personalized advertisements.
  • Analytics cookies: We may use Vercel Analytics or similar services to understand how users interact with our platform. This data is anonymized.
  • Authentication cookies (future): If user accounts are added, we will use session cookies to maintain your login state.
  • Opting out: You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling cookies may affect ad delivery but will not impact core platform functionality.

Diamond Intel relies on the following third-party providers:

Vercel (Hosting):

Google AdSense (Advertising):

Upstash (Redis Caching):

Neon (Postgres Database):

Stripe (Future Payments):

If subscription plans are offered, payments will be processed by Stripe. Stripe collects payment information (card number, billing address) directly — Diamond Intel never sees or stores your full payment details. See Stripe's privacy policy at https://stripe.com/privacy

Clerk (Future Authentication):

If user accounts are added, authentication will likely use Clerk. See their privacy policy at https://clerk.com/legal/privacy

The Show API (MLB The Show Data):

All card data and marketplace information come from MLB The Show's public API. See their terms at https://www.theshow.com

7. Chrome Extension (Diamond Intel Scanner)

Diamond Intel offers an optional Chrome extension that scans your MLB The Show inventory for duplicate items. Here is how it handles your data:

What the extension accesses

  • Your inventory data on mlb26.theshow.com (cards, equipment, unlockables you own)
  • Public marketplace listing prices via The Show's API
  • Public item detail data (names, rarities, images) via The Show's API

How data is stored

  • Locally only: Scan results are stored in your browser's localStorage on the Diamond Intel website. No inventory data is sent to our servers.
  • No accounts required: The extension does not require sign-in and does not create user profiles.
  • Market price lookups: The extension sends item UUIDs (not personal data) to our API to retrieve current marketplace prices from our Redis cache.

Permissions

  • Host permissions: The extension requests access to mlb26.theshow.com (to read your inventory) and diamondintel.gg (to sync scan results to The Vault).
  • No background tracking: The extension only activates when you click "Scan" in the popup. It does not run in the background or monitor browsing activity.

8. Data from The Show

Diamond Intel displays publicly available game data from The Show's API:

  • Public data only: We fetch and display only publicly available card information, marketplace prices, and game data.
  • Inventory access with consent: The optional Chrome extension reads your inventory on The Show's website only when you initiate a scan. This data stays in your browser.
  • Data source: All data is sourced directly from The Show's public API and is subject to The Show's terms of service.

9. Data Retention

How we handle data retention:

  • Marketplace data: Card prices and marketplace listings are refreshed every 5 minutes and are not archived long-term beyond current snapshots.
  • Price history: Historical price data is retained indefinitely to power our price trend charts and analysis tools.
  • Server logs: Access logs are typically retained for 30 days for security and debugging purposes.
  • Account data (if added): User account data will be retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time.

10. Children's Privacy

Diamond Intel is not intentionally directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information promptly. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately at contact@diamondintel.gg.

11. Your Privacy Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Right to access: You can request information about what data we hold about you.
  • Right to deletion: You can request that we delete your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements).
